Common Name: Yellow Fat Tail Scorpion

Scientific Name: Androctonus australis

Range: North Africa

Type: Opportunistic Burrower

Communal: No

Adult Size: 4 inches

Temperature: 85-90 degrees

Humidity: 50%

Temperament: Aggressive

Speed: Fast

Venom: [5]

Diet: Young can eat pinhead crickets, small roaches, and mealworms. Adults can eat large crickets , roaches, and superworms.

Housing: Adults can be kept in medium critter keeper, 2 gallon tank, or rubbermaid type container. Babies can be kept in small critter keepers or large deli cups.

Substrate: Sand with rocks and hides.

Additional info: This species causes more deaths then any other species of scorpion. In my opinion they are the most dangerous species of scorpion in the world. With that said they are only for experienced keepers with years of scorpion keeping under there belt. They can't climb glass so they are easy to manage. Extreme caution should be taken when keeping this species.
